Paternity Leave
There is no statutory paternity leave in Mauritania.
In Mauritania, the termination notice must be made in writing and state the grounds for dismissal. It should then be handed in person to the concerned employee.
The duration of the notice period varies depending on the worker’s seniority.
Valid grounds for termination may include gross misconduct and force majeure.
Employees are only eligible for severance pay if they are not guilty of gross misconduct or any other allegation that severely breaches their contract.
Once they are entitled to compensation, severance pay is calculated in proportion to their seniority.
